Holidays

Hello, everyone.

My favorite holidays are New Year's Eve and New Year. On December 31, we go to our paternal grandparents' house and have a meal with our relatives every year. To be honest, I don't really like relatives, but enjoy gorgeous food, grandmother's home cooking, and conversation with grandparents. These are fun only on this day. At night, the broadcast of "Kohaku Uta Gassen" and "Gakitsuka" begins. These are the most famous New Year's Eve TV shows, and after returning home from my grandparents' home, watch them and celebrate the New Year.

Happy New Year! On January 1st, firstly we go to some shrines for a shrine visit and buy Shime decorations and amulets. After that, we go for first sale at supermarkets and shops. We always buy lucky bags there, but many people come to the first sale, so it is often a battle for competition. After returning home, we spend a relaxing time watching New Year's TV programs and reading New Year's cards. And at night, we enjoy homemade osechi dishes. And then we spend the rest of the same 2 days. These are brief explanations of my New Year's Eve and New Year's routines, and like these, I have decided to do every year, but I think these are the most Japanese holidays and the most impressive of the year so I like these very much. Also, I think the beginning of the year is very important, so I value each and every time of the New Year and always remember what the New Year was like each year. I love New Year's Eve and New Year's. Maybe these holidays are important to me than my birthday.

I wonder how foreigners spend the end of the year and the new year. There are many things I want to know, such as whether people spend New Year like Japanese and whether there are special dishes or tradition, custom that celebrate New Year in foreign countries.

Thank you for reading.
